Jim and I decided to go on our longest road trip yet ... just over three weeks together in the RV from Georgia to Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, California, Arizona, and back home. Along the way we've visited with several family members, taken lots of great photos, and seen some wonderful parts of the United States! It's been great so far! Here's a glimpse into my first day ...
Jim actually left on the trip October 9 and I left a week later on October 17. He drove the RV and I flew into Denver, Colorado, where he picked me up. During the start of his trip, he was able to visit with his son and daughter-in-law, AJ and Madison Wimmer in Tennessee, where they are both seniors in college. He then went on to Denver to visit his life-long friend, Mike, and they got to hang out for a couple days ... and had snow! Temperatures dropped down into the teens one night and actually messed up a water line in the RV ... so we've been traveling with jugs of water and decided to get the running water fixed when we get back home. Meanwhile, back in Glennville, we were preparing for Hurricane Matthew to blow through.
Finally though, on the 17th, I boarded Delta and flew from Savannah (stopped in Atlanta) to Denver. The flight was good and since Jim had the RV, I had already packed the majority of my stuff in there before he left town. He picked me up in Denver and we drove to the KOA Campground in Cheyenne.
The snow had come the previous weekend and now there were just small patches left here and there. Not too much at all. But still, I found some in the campground and photographed it with the RV. Because of the angle of the camera, it makes it look like a LOT of snow, but the reality is the second photo. hahaha!!
We only had one night in Cheyenne, but two of Jim's brothers live there so we got to meet up with them and their families for dinner that night at a fun spot downtown. Lots of food and it was a good evening of catching up and sharing a few laughs. But the next morning, we were off on the road heading toward Salt Lake City, Utah!
