This year I decided to host a local photowalk in Glennville, GA, as part of Scott Kelby's Worldwide Photowalk held October 6, 2018. We had a good turnout for the first event held here and although it was a hot day, we had a great time and got lots of great photos!! I'm so excited that everything went as well as it did! Special thanks to Anna's on the Corner, Pine Forest's Christmas & Collectibles Shop, and The Hughes House, for letting us go inside to take photos also! And thanks to Glennville Funeral Home for letting us use their parking lot, and to the Farmhouse for saving us a table for lunch afterwards! Here is our group photo:
Participants could each pick one of their photos to enter in our local photowalk contest. Ten of them chose to enter and following are their entries, which are unidentified. One of these will be chosen as the overall local winner and that image will go on to compete in the worldwide contest! In addition, the local winner wins one of Scott Kelby's digital books. All of these were great and it's so hard to choose just one winner!! Thanks to everyone for entering!
In addition, as walk leader, I could submit one image myself to the Leaders Contest. All of the walk leader photos will be judged as a group and one overall winner selected. It was a tough choice too, with my own photos, but here is the one I ultimately decided to submit:
And here are all of MY images that I took during the walk. Photowalks are great fun and although this is the first time I've HOSTED a walk myself, I've taken part as a participant in past years in Colorado Springs, Atlanta, Brooklyn, and Charleston. Although I shoot with my DSLR, my boyfriend is right there with me shooting with his iPhone. It really doesn't matter what kind of camera that you use ... only that you have one! ;-) If you'd like to take part in a future event (normally held the first weekend in October), you have to remember to register at www.worldwidephotowalk.com. It's FREE to take part, but you have to register so that you are counted as part of the group and so you can submit a photo into the contest. Hope to see you next year!!
